Diagnosing the internet

Finally, after five years of poor service our AT&T DSL finally gave out.

I did a little trouble-shooting outside the house and I found EXPOSED COPPER in the lines.  As soon as the January rains started, the lines started shorting.

So for about week we have been running whole house on a mobile hotspot and it got me curious about how good is the mobile internet connection?  Based on the diagnotics (right) there are a lot of dropped packets and generally <100 ms pings.  Not bad, t-Mobile.
